		Accountancy is the fourth most popular career choice...But stereotypes still plague the profession Accountancymagazine.com’s Sally Percy reports that accountancy is a more popular career choice than teaching, journalism or veterinary surgery, but it still trails behind law and medicine. The survey of nearly 1,000 adults by market research agency BMRB found that IT topped the list of 48 possible career options, with nearly 20% of respondents wanting to enter that field. Meanwhile accountancy seemed to suffer from an image problem despite being the fourth most popular occupation. Nearly half those polled thought accountants were boring while over a quarter claimed they lacked a sense of humour. Read more here.
