Are you passionate about numbers and committed to ensuring the smooth financial operations of a business? Our client, a solid and expanding accounting firm with a diverse client base, is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accounts Payables Specialist to join their dynamic team in The Hague. In this role, you will oversee the accounts payable process for clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards. You will collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to streamline procedures, resolve discrepancies, and foster strong vendor relationships. If you lack extensive experience, don’t worry, as ongoing training will be provided.
Key Accounts Payables Specialist Responsibilities:
- Review, authenticate, and process invoices received from vendors on behalf of their clients
- Validate invoices against purchase orders and delivery receipts to ensure accuracy and authorisation
- Assign appropriate general ledger account coding and input invoices into accounting software systems
- Reconcile vendor statements, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and communicate effectively with them
- Assist in compiling client financial statements by providing accurate and up-to-date accounts payable data
- Maintain well-organised and meticulously documented accounts payable files and records for audit and compliance purposes
- Support clients with accounts payable inquiries, providing timely and accurate information as needed
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve accounts payable procedures, identify efficiencies, and implement best practices
- Stay updated on accounting regulations and standards relevant to accounts payable processes
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Some prior experience in accounts payable or a similar role
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills
- Good level of English
