We are actively recruiting for an Accounts Payable Team Leader to run a team of AP accountants (20+) for a large, shared-service-style finance hub based in Berlin, Germany. The role is with a market-leading business with a genuinely global footprint and complex stakeholder landscape.
You will lead the teams in delivering transactional services, such as timely processing and payment of invoices and employee travel expenses, following defined standard processes and SLAs for various countries. Reporting to a Head of Sub-Ledger Accounting and working as part of the strong leadership team within the function.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage, coach, train, mentor, develop, and lead an AP team in preparing and delivering financial activities according to IFRS and local GAAP reporting requirements.
- By engaging with stakeholders across the business, both internal and external, you will drive operational excellence through continuous improvement in line with accounting standards.
- Working within the SLA frameworks, you will ensure the execution of AP activities and requirements in line with IFRS.
- Responsible with other finance leadership figures for developing a solid framework of accounting performance and standards across the global subsidiaries and group businesses.
Profile:
- Ideally, you will be degree-qualified in accounting or finance and have 5+ years of experience in a large accounting team or finance function.
- Proven leadership experience in an AP/GL team is ideally sought, but leadership experience in other similar accounting teams would also be beneficial.
- International experience is highly desirable; exposure to a global footprint or experience within shared-service hubs is also desirable.
- Working in English but other European language skills are highly desired (French, Spanish, German, Czech, Italian)
