We are recruiting for a Head of Global Tax for our client, who is a leading and innovative international business. As the company continues to grow successfully, it is undergoing a significant re-organisation to help support and enable the ongoing growth curve. As part of this, they need to hire a new head of tax to provide rigour to the tax function.

The organisation is building out a global shared service centre and is looking to hire someone in this role to support the group and be part of the senior leadership team. The successful individual in this role will collaborate with the Head of Financial Accounting to deliver effective and efficient tax activities and transactional processes.

Designing global rules, guidelines, and procedures and continuously improving functional knowledge-based processes is part of the job.  You will be responsible for the assessment of country-tax risks as well as providing a tax compliance framework for local and global taxes.

Head of Global Tax Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead corporate tax activities, overseeing tax modelling, transfer pricing, tax advisory, tax strategies, tax governance, and controls across the group.
  • Driving both European and global income tax audits and being a pivotal contact to provide technical advice and support in dealing with non-European tax authorities, as required.
  • Serving as the key point of contact for all regions’ tax risk governance and control matters, including embedding all processes and controls and working with leadership on tax control matters.
  • Actively converts strategy, policy, tools, and processes by implementing and continuously improving functional transactional processes.
  • Leads and guides employees of the shared service centre financial and Treasury teams.
  • Support the finance department in strategic projects and initiatives and collaborate with the accounting department in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements.

Profile:

  • Ideally, you will have an economics, business, or accounting degree.
  • Like an ATA, you will be a qualified German tax advisor (Steuerberater) or equivalent.
  • You will possess in-depth professional experience, with several years specialising in tax or corporate finance.
  • Proven track record of leadership qualities, able to manage and inspire teams.
  • Proficient in relevant tax systems and software, with knowledge of SAP being advantageous.
  • Fluent in English and German; other languages are beneficial.
